The "Nutrition Dinner and Gift for 45 Elders" project was organized with the aim of addressing the hunger and well-being of the elderly residents at Shana Udaya Elders Retreat Home in Mount Lavinia. On 19th July 2025, the event was attended by 45 elders who were provided with a nourishing dinner and thoughtful gifts. The project was led by Lion Niwantha kosgoda and Lion Lady Irosha Edirisinghe, with the support of the local Lions Club.
The event was graced by the presence of Lion Nimal Premananda, the Region Advisor, who served as the chief guest. The initiative not only focused on the immediate nutritional needs of the elders but also sought to bring joy and show appreciation for their contributions to the community.
The project, valued at Rs. 45,000, helped foster a sense of community and well-being among the elderly residents, ensuring they felt valued and cared for. This event was part of the ongoing efforts to support the aging population, particularly in providing them with nutritious meals and essential supplies.
