Report on “Udahamulla Night” Fundraiser Organized by: Lions Club of Udahamulla Date: 6th September 2025 Venue: Samanala Hotel, Kimbulawala Time: 7.30 p.m. – 12.00 midnight ⸻ Introduction The Lions Club of Udahamulla successfully organized its fundraising project, “Udahamulla Night,” on 6th September 2025 at Samanala Hotel, Kimbulawala. The purpose of this fundraiser was to support and carry out community service projects for underprivileged and needy people. ⸻ Pre-Event Preparations In order to ensure the success of the fundraiser, the club organized several preparatory activities and meetings: • 14th August 2025 – Special Board Meeting with 10 members contributing 3 volunteer hours to discuss event planning. • 27th August 2025 – Special Board Meeting with 11 members contributing 4 volunteer hours for further discussions. • 1st, 3rd, and 5th September 2025 – Preparations including hall visits, backdrop arrangements, flyer designing, cutleries, band and singer bookings, decorations, and invitation calls. A total of 10 members contributed 30 volunteer hours. On the event day (6th September 2025), 22 members contributed 7 volunteer hours, with overall support from 53 volunteers, amounting to 2332 volunteer hours. ⸻ Event Highlights The Chief Guest of the evening was District Governor Lion Gaya Upasena MJF, accompanied by his gracious lady Lion Rasika Upasena. The event was further honored by the presence of: • PMCC, 1st and 2nd Vice Governors with their spouses • 5 Past District Governors (PDGs) • Cabinet Secretary, LLA Chairperson, Cabinet Officers • Club Officers, members of other Lions Clubs, friends, family members, and well-wishers Around 140 attendees participated in this memorable evening. The entertainment lineup included talented artists such as Sarath Dikkumbura, Podi Saman, Nipuni, and Anarkali, whose performances kept the audience engaged and added vibrance to the event. ⸻ Financial Summary The fundraiser received generous contributions through: • Club member contributions • Donations from well-wishers • Ticket sales and other support Income: More than Rs. 8 lakhs Expenses: More than Rs. 3 lakhs (for hall, dinner, band, singers, decorations, stage, helpers, etc.) Profit: More than Rs. 5 lakhs ⸻ Acknowledgements This successful event was jointly coordinated under the leadership of Club President Lion Asanka and Club Secretary Lion Palitha, who served as Co-Project Chairpersons. Their dedication, along with the commitment of all club members, ensured the smooth execution of the fundraiser. The Lions Club of Udahamulla extends its heartfelt gratitude to all Lions, invitees, friends, families, and well-wishers who attended, supported, and contributed to making “Udahamulla Night” a resounding success. The funds raised will be directed towards meaningful service projects that will benefit those in need.
