The Lions Club of Maharagama Golden City, together with the Lions Club of Boralesgamuwa Metro, successfully organized a Leadership Camp for School Prefects on 7th August 2025 at Batuwandara Junior School. The project was chaired by Lion Pradeep Sandaruwan(lions club of maharagama golden city ) and Lion Chathura Widanapathirana(lions club of boralesgamuwa metro)
The camp focused on youth empowerment, awareness, education, and advocacy, aiming to develop essential leadership skills, discipline, teamwork, and confidence among the next generation of student leaders. A total of 30 school prefects took part in this training program, gaining valuable knowledge and guidance to strengthen their roles within the school community.
The event was graced by the Governor of Lions District D2, Lion Priyantha Perera, as the Chief Guest, adding further inspiration and encouragement to the young participants.All participating children were awarded certificates.
The total project value was Rs. 50,000, covering training materials, refreshments, and other necessary arrangements. The active involvement of Lions members ensured the success of the program, making it a memorable and impactful day for all the prefects who attended.
