Mushroom Cultivation Awareness Program
On 12 July 2025, the Ratnapura Lions Club organized an awareness program on mushroom cultivation in the Elapatha area to support and enhance family livelihoods.
The program was conducted under the leadership of Lion Lady Chalani Shamali, member and mushroom cultivation advisor of the Ratnapura Lions Club. Fifty families actively participated, learning practical techniques for planting, nurturing, and maintaining mushrooms, with a focus on income generation through home-based cultivation.
