Colombo Elvitigala lions Club of District 306D7 held its first Service project for the new lionistic year 2025/2026 focusing on youth awareness and development in the field of Nature conservation, Fauna & Flora and origin of animal species from Pleistocene period up to date. Professor Rangana Fernando, an Ecologist, Venerable Mahinda Thero, former Lecturer of the Peradeniya University and Mr Anil Munasinghe, Student of Archaeology conducted the Lecturers to youth of the Sri Lanka Institute of National Tourist Guide Lecturers and present were also Club members including the Club President, Lion Dayan Madugalle, Vice President, Lion Donald Athukorale, Zone Chairperson of Region 2 Zone 1, Lion Tuan Jamion, who was also the Project Chairman. 5 other Club members and 3 Club members of 306A1 lions district took part in the event. The Chief Guest was the new SLINTGL President Mr Sampath Perera and the Guest of Honor was 2nd District Vice Governor Lion Viduranga Maddumage MJF of District 306D7. The event was held at the Diyasaru Bird Park, Battaramulla, Kotte on the 23rd of July 2025 from 9am to 5pm. It was attended by 40 participants including Lions Members.
Breakfast packs, coffee, water and lunch were provided. Plaques and special gifts were handed over to the resource Persons. Entrance tickets for all were provided by the Colombo Elvitigala club.
