The Lions Club of Kalawana organized a medical and welfare project at a very poor rural school, aiming to support both the students and the surrounding villagers.
A medical camp was conducted under the supervision of Dr. Anura, who carried out health check-ups for the children and villagers and provided guidance on maintaining good health. A special seminar on diabetes awareness was also held to educate the community about prevention and management.
There are 13 children enrolled in the school, and the club generously distributed essential food packs among them to help improve their nutrition and well-being.
The villagers warmly welcomed the Lions team, and six schoolchildren performed a traditional dance to greet and honor the guests. A total of 75 community members participated in the program, which reflected unity, compassion, and the spirit of service.
