The Lions Club of Homagama Supreme successfully conducted a comprehensive Leadership Training Program at Asoka Vidyalaya, Colombo 10, from 4th to 7th July 2025, with the participation of over 200 students. The initiative aimed to enhance students’ leadership potential, teamwork abilities, and personal development through a series of interactive sessions, motivational discussions, and practical team-building activities.
The Opening Ceremony was graced by Past President Lion Ravi Manapperuma as the Chief Guest, whose inspiring address encouraged students to embrace leadership with responsibility, compassion, and integrity. Over the four days, participants actively engaged in workshops, skill-building exercises, and group-based activities designed to cultivate confidence, effective communication, decision-making skills, and collaboration.
The program was conducted by veteran trainer and senior journalist Mr. Jayasiri Kariyawasam, who guided students through a well-structured and impactful learning experience, combining theoretical insights with practical application.
The initiative recorded 1,728 Lion Hours, served 200 students of Asoka Vidyalaya, and carried a project value of LKR 500,000.00. The program concluded successfully, leaving students motivated, confident, and better equipped to take on leadership roles within their school and community, reflecting the Lions Club’s dedication to empowering the next generation of young leaders.
