The Lions Club of Homagama Supreme carried out the “Abhaya Parami Charity Project” on 14th August 2025 at Welisara, under the compassionate leadership of Project Chairman Lion Sriyan Salinda Narasinghaarachchi. This noble initiative was devoted to saving the lives of innocent animals facing the threat of slaughter, offering them a new lease on life filled with care and protection.
Through this heartfelt effort, four cows and baby cows were rescued and given shelter, ensuring their safety and well-being. The project symbolized an act of profound kindness — a reflection of the Lions’ humanitarian values that extend beyond humans to all living beings. It beautifully embodied the spirit of “Rescuing lives, restoring peace, and radiating compassion,” demonstrating that every life, no matter how small, deserves dignity and love.
The initiative recorded 32 Lion hours and carried a project value of LKR 500,000.00. The Abhaya Parami Charity Project stands as a life-saving mission that not only protected these gentle animals but also inspired compassion and respect for all forms of life, reflecting the Lions Club of Homagama Supreme’s enduring dedication to service, empathy, and mercy.
