The Lions Club of Homagama Supreme successfully organized a three-day Leadership Training and Camping Program commencing on 29th September 2025 at the Roman Catholic School, Rawatawatta, Moratuwa, under the leadership of Project Chairman Lion Ravi Jayadewa Mannapperuma. The project recorded 14,300 Lion hours, served 300 participants, and was valued at LKR 500,000.00.
The primary aim of this initiative was to develop students’ leadership capacity, teamwork abilities, self-confidence, and personal growth. The program was conducted by veteran trainer and senior journalist Mr. Jayasiri Kariyawasam, who led a structured series of workshops, motivational discussions, skill-building exercises, and group-based practical activities. These sessions focused on enhancing communication, critical thinking, emotional intelligence, responsibility, and decision-making—key competencies vital for effective leadership.
Throughout the program, participants actively engaged in interactive learning experiences designed to help them recognize their strengths, collaborate effectively with peers, build self-confidence, and understand the significance of positive leadership within school and community environments.
The program concluded on a highly impactful note, with students expressing heartfelt appreciation for the knowledge, guidance, and motivation they received. This initiative stands as a remarkable contribution by the Lions Club of Homagama Supreme toward empowering the next generation of young leaders, inspiring them to take initiative and make meaningful contributions to society.
