The Future Minds – AI Education & Certification Program organized by the Lions Club of Homagama Supreme was successfully conducted on 23rd August 2025 at Sipdhara Educational Institute at Meegoda. This comprehensive educational and awareness initiative was designed for Grade 6 students who recently completed their scholarship examinations, providing them with early exposure to the rapidly advancing field of Artificial Intelligence.
This three-month program focused on enhancing digital literacy, AI awareness, and practical computer skills among young learners. Through a blend of lectures, interactive activities and group learning, students were able to explore new concepts, apply knowledge creatively and build confidence in using digital tools effectively.
To ensure equal access to learning opportunities, each participating student was provided with a scholarship valued at Rs. 3,500.00 for the full duration of the course. The total project value amounted to Rs. 10,500,000.00, signifying a significant investment in youth education and empowerment. Furthermore, the initiative contributed a total of 7,800 Lions Service Hours, reflecting the commitment and dedication of the club members.
The program concluded with a special award and certificate ceremony, where top-performing students were awarded special recognition for their outstanding participation, academic excellence, and innovative project contributions. These awards aimed to motivate continued learning, leadership, and curiosity among young achievers.
The event was graced by Lion Sriyan Salinda as the Chief Guest, and the project was effectively chaired by Lion Milton Kirimudiyanse whose leadership played a vital role in the successful execution of the program.
Through the Future Minds initiative, the Lions Club of Homagama Supreme continues to support educational growth, inspire young minds, and encourage the next generation to confidently step into the digital future.
