Report on Christmas High Tea Project – Lions Club of Udahamulla
On 22nd December 2025, the Lions Club of Udahamulla successfully organized a Christmas High Tea Project under the leadership of Project Chairman Lion Samantha Fernando, in collaboration with Leo Jeniru, Founder of Waves of Hope.
A special Christmas High Tea Party was held at Courtyard by Marriott from 3.00 p.m. to 10.00 p.m. for 25 childhood cancer patients and 25 parents. Santa Claus distributed gifts to all the children,
The event was graced by pip mahendra Amarasuriya PMJF District Governor D7 Lion Gaya Upasena, PMJF government dignitaries, Lions and Leo club members. The program included dancing events, speeches, and entertainment, creating a joyful and memorable experience for the children and their families.
As part of the project, the children enjoyed a Colombo city tour in a double-decker bus, visited the Gangaramaya Temple, and took part in sightseeing around Colombo with festive Christmas decorations.
The total project cost was approximately Rs. 800000/-. The project was a great success, spreading joy, hope, and Christmas spirit among childhood cancer patients and their families.Media covered the event
