Description

A fundraising cricket tournament was successfully held on 1st February 2026 with the enthusiastic participation of 24 teams, bringing together community members in a spirit of sportsmanship and service. Through this event, a total of LKR 500,000 was raised to support ongoing community service projects, particularly initiatives such as cataract surgeries for elderly individuals in need. The tournament concluded with awards presented to the top teams, where the winning team received a cash prize of LKR 50,000, and the runner-up team was awarded LKR 30,000. This event not only promoted unity and healthy competition but also played a vital role in generating funds for meaningful humanitarian efforts. It reflects the Lions Club’s commitment to community engagement, vision care, and compassionate service.
