Description

Location: Sripada Adviya, Forestry, Demodara - 123 kms away from Colombo Activity: Planting of coconut tree plants and Jack Fruit Plants Purpose: To coincide with Lions INternal Environment Week and contribute to enviornmental conservation and community wellbeing. Its a source of nutritious food for alms and daily concumpetion. Provides shade and a cooler clamet environment for meditation. Supports self-sufficient and sustainable monastic living. It enriches forest biodiversity and strengthens canopy cover. Captures carbon and improves air quality. Enhances groundwater retention in the Siripada foothills. Each coconut and jackfruit plant contributes to the spiritual enviornmental, and economic wellbeing of the Demodara community, serving a lasting gift for future generations.
