Description

During October 2026, the Lions Club of Nugegoda Legacy continued its one-year scholarship support programme for two deserving medical students of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Peradeniya. As the 3rd monthly instalment of the project, LKR 10,000 was provided, with each student receiving LKR 5,000. The project is fully funded through a LKR 120,000 donor contribution made in memory of the donor’s late father, a medical doctor, and was initiated in August 2026 to commemorate his birthday. The two beneficiaries were selected based on genuine financial need following a verification process coordinated by Project Chairperson Lion Lady Renuka Jayamanne. This ongoing initiative aims to provide consistent financial assistance to help the students continue their medical education with greater financial stability.
