Description

“Child Comfort, Emotional Wellbeing and Paediatric Care Support.” As part of the Lions Club of Nugegoda Legacy Children’s Day service project at Lady Ridgeway Hospital for Children on 2 October 2026, more than 150 toys and soft toys were donated to support the emotional wellbeing and comfort of young patients. Approximately 70 children between the ages of one and eight received age-appropriate toys during the Children’s Day programme, including soft toys and jingles for younger children. In addition, larger soft toys and selected items were handed over to the wards and paediatrics care teams for continued use when comforting children during consultations, vaccinations, treatment procedures and other clinical care. The project aimed to create happiness, reduce anxiety and contribute to a more child-friendly and reassuring hospital environment. We have arranged the toys as per the age groups and everyone got age-appropriate toys.
