Lady Ridgeway Hospital for Children
The Lions Club of Nugegoda Legacy carried out a ward library development and educational book donation project at Lady Ridgeway Hospital for Children on 2 October 2026. More than 500 English and Sinhala educational books, storybooks, Ladybird books and other age-appropriate children’s literature were donated to the libraries of Wards 07, 10 and 11. In addition to donating the books, club members rearranged and organized the three ward libraries to improve accessibility and enable children to more easily select suitable reading material during their hospital stay. The project aimed to promote literacy, reading, imagination and continuous educational engagement among hospitalized children. The total estimated value of the donated books and library support was approximately USD 1,000.
